TL;DR: There is no Spirit Christmas store in Raleigh. North Carolina's first and only one opens November 6, 2026 in the old Saks Fifth Avenue space at Tanger Outlets Mebane, about an hour west of Raleigh on I-40. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Expect inflatables, animatronics, a "Creepmas" aisle and a new Candy Cane Express walk-through. Buy the inflatables there. Let us handle the roofline.

Spirit Halloween has been turning empty storefronts into costume shops every fall for decades. Two years ago it started flipping some of them into Spirit Christmas stores after Halloween. Until now none of them were in North Carolina. That changes this season. Here is everything I could verify.

Is there a Spirit Christmas in Raleigh?

No. Spirit's 2026 store locator lists one North Carolina location, and it is in Mebane, not Raleigh, Cary, Durham or Chapel Hill. WFMY News 2 reported on September 29 that it "will be the only Spirit Christmas store in North Carolina."

The Spirit Halloween stores around Raleigh are Halloween stores. Some of Spirit's Christmas stores are converted Halloween locations, but as of this writing none of the Raleigh ones are on the Christmas list. If that changes I will update this post.

What is actually in the store

Spirit Christmas sells the same genre of stuff Spirit Halloween does, pointed at December. Per Attractions Magazine, the 2026 stores are laid out in themed areas:

Inflatable Land, a section dedicated to inflatable yard characters.
Creepmas, horror mashed up with the holidays. Think Krampus, not Rudolph.
Candy Cane Express, a new interactive walk-through experience this year.

WFMY also lists animatronics and a station where kids can write letters to Santa. In 2025, select stores offered free Santa visits with paid photo sessions. Spirit has not announced whether Mebane gets Santa in 2026, so do not promise the kids anything yet.

Last year the stores were heavy on ornaments, ugly sweaters, loungewear and stocking stuffers alongside the yard decor, according to TODAY. Expect the same mix.

How big is Spirit Christmas now?

It went from 8 stores in 2024 to 30 in 2025, and Haunted Attraction Network counted 43 stores in 15 states on the 2026 locator as of October 5. Most are converted Spirit Halloween locations that switch over after October 31.

If Mebane is too far, the next closest 2026 stores are Colonial Heights and Manassas in Virginia and Charleston in South Carolina, all also opening November 6.

The part of the yard Spirit Christmas does not cover

Here is my honest take as the guy who hangs lights for a living. Spirit is a great place to load the truck with inflatables and a twelve-foot animatronic nutcracker. Those go on the lawn, and you can set them up in an afternoon.

The roofline is a different job. It takes a ladder, the right clips for your shingle and gutter type, enough extension cord that nothing trips a breaker, and someone willing to go back up in January to take it all down. Plenty of people buy a cart of lights at a seasonal store, get halfway across the gutter, and decide the top of a ladder is not where they want to spend the weekend before Thanksgiving.

That is what we do. Jolly Raleigh installs commercial-grade Christmas lights on homes across Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina and the rest of the Triangle. Design, install, in-season repairs and January takedown are all included. If you want the lights to stay up year-round and change color for every holiday, we also install permanent RGB lighting that disappears into your trim.

Want it designed instead of bought off a shelf?

Spirit sells what everyone else on the street is buying. If you want the house to look like someone designed it, start with our 2026 Holiday Decor Catalog: ornaments, ribbon, foliage, trees and specialty decor for homes and businesses, sized and color-matched to the lights going on your roofline.

We also do interior Christmas displays. Trees, mantels, staircases, entryways and storefront windows, designed, installed, and taken down after the holidays so the decor goes back in a box and not in your attic. Ask about it when you get your quote.

You can get a free instant quote from your address in about a minute, or call (919) 675-2202. Go to Mebane for the inflatables. We will meet you at the roofline.
